Alex Kruger believes that permaculture design is a key tool for bringing transformation to, and addressing the pressing needs of environmental and social justice.
Alex completed her Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) at the Fambidzanai Training Centre near Harare, Zimbabwe, in 1993 and in almost three decades has presented up to 50 PDC courses alongside other related specialist short courses.
She has worked as a consultant and trainer with private clients, collectives, urban and rural contexts regionally in countries like South Africa, Malawi and Namibia and Zanzibar, and internationally in Spain.
Alex has collaborated with other well-known specialists in the field, including John Nzira, Robina McCurdy, Kent Cooper, Karen De Vries with Ryan Botha, Mzu Zele, Imraan Samuels, Sandra Daniels, Starhawk, Alfred Decker and Kate Curtis.
The organisations she has worked with include:

- Nature’s Gift Permaculture (now Kusamala),
- World Futures Council in Namibia;
- Guerilla House in Cape Town;

Alex’s regenerative living skills include:
